My family and I settled in the quiet river community of Westport, KY in July 2001. My husband, Dave retired from the Navy in Virginia Beach and agreed to move our kids Eli and Shelby to Kentucky to be near my family. My step-mother who owned the building which now houses Knock On Wood Country Mercantile let us move our craft business into the vacant building and set up shop. We started out here attending local shows, selling our wares and letting people know that we had a store. Westport is not exactly on the way to anywhere. We moved here determined to build something that customers would enjoy driving out to. We were determined to become a destination shop. We continue to create and craft items to fill our store. Our specialty is recycling and finding new uses for old things. We do refinishing and custom work with our "secret" paint on paint technique. It is our priveledge to take an item from   a customers past and turn it into a new and useful addition to their home.
